i would like to point out that i am a thinker ( as if you might have noticed). I have always wondered how things work and always look for a better way of doing things. the statement “ if its not broke don’t fix it” has always been, to me anyway, a deceptive way of thinking. It has more meaning in the simple fact that it promotes a sort of stagnate thinking. Sort of like that musty smell that billows into your nostrils upon opening the door to your grandparents camper after sitting all winter. (I am sorry if you never have experienced this, but you must get out and try it.) I feel we should rewrite that phrase into “ well if its not broke, lets break it to see if we can fix it better than before.” I have no shame in failing, I learn more from mistakes than I do from my successes.
